The production of bulletproof vests begins with the selection of protective materials. Depending on the product's protection requirements and intended operating environment, high-strength fibers-such as aramid or high-performance polyethylene-are typically selected; other composite materials may also be incorporated based on the design. Once raw materials enter the production phase, they undergo quality inspections to verify that their strength, stability, and appearance meet production standards, thereby establishing a foundation for subsequent processing.
High-performance fibers are woven, layered, or composited according to the design specifications to create a material structure capable of providing the required level of protection. As different types of protective layers vary in structure and processing methods, the production process focuses on maintaining material uniformity, structural integrity, and dimensional stability. For products requiring hard protective plates, specific mounting and securing structures are also integrated in accordance with the design.
The process also involves cutting, sewing, and assembling the vest's outer carrier. The carrier is typically designed with ergonomics in mind, ensuring that protective materials cover the designated areas while balancing wearer comfort and mobility. Components such as shoulder straps, waist adjustment mechanisms, fasteners, and other accessories are installed during this stage, followed by checks on overall dimensions and assembly quality.
Upon completion of production, the vest undergoes inspections covering appearance, dimensions, weight, structural integrity, and protective performance; specific test parameters are determined by the applicable standards and certification requirements. For protective gear, the production process encompasses not only material processing and final assembly but also raw material inspection, in-process control, and final testing. Only products that have passed rigorous testing can ensure consistent performance and operational reliability.
